Make Homemade Butter

…in 10 Minutes!

Why didn’t I do this years ago???

Making homemade butter with healthy fats and no additives is soooo easy!

Since we bought our farm, I’ve always wanted to get a dairy cow. However, there are a lot of logistics in having a cow for milk.

Basically, the cow must give birth in order to produce the milk, then the farmer must continue to milk the cow twice a day, every day in order for her to keep producing the milk. Or the farmer can share the milk with calf, letting the calf nurse one time and the farmer milking the other time. Either way, it’s quite the commitment. Plus the general care of the cow and the calf.

Since most days I have my hands full of all the other chores around here, I haven’t been able to dedicate myself to milking a cow twice a day. I just don’t know where I’d find the time (and extra energy!).

So you can imagine my excitement to learn that I could get my raw cow’s milk from our local farmer’s market on a weekly basis!

In Tennessee, it’s illegal for farmers to sell raw milk. <eyeroll> Instead, one has to purchase a “cow share” so that all the “shareholders” can then collect their share of milk from the cow. Kinda like leasing a cow for as long as you need. A ridiculous government invasion of personal rights, in my opinion. Each state has it’s own laws about this.

If you don’t have access to raw milk in your area, don’t be discouraged. You can still make your own butter using heavy whipping cream from the grocery store! I’ll show you how.

Try it! Learn a new skill for free in just a few minutes. You can check it off your bucket list.

And drop me a photo of your finished masterpiece!
